macOS Hints: Spelling and Grammar

macOS

In macOS the spelling and grammar checker is built in. Merlin Project uses this check like many other apps that handle text.

The following steps will make sure that the spelling and grammar checker is turned on:

  1. open the system settings.

  2. click on "Keyboard" and then on the "Text" tab.

  3. from the "Spelling" drop-down menu, select "Automatic by Language" or a language of your choice.

This will correct either the system language or the selected language in the spelling. If you check "Automatic correction", the system automatically corrects the errors as you type.

More about spelling and grammar can be found directly on the Apple Website.

Hint

In Merlin Project, the "Edit > Spelling and Grammar" menu is available for selected text.
