How Much Data Is Transferred? Will My Data Allowance Be Eaten up Quickly?

The file-based cloud services transfer entire files for each synchronization, which naturally consumes more data volume.

On macOS, the additional consumption is limited, because most cloud services we know analyze which parts of a file have actually changed and only transfer these.

On iOS, however, due to restrictions with the interfaces of the cloud services, Merlin Project always has to transfer entire files. Therefore, there MagicSync throttles the frequency of uploads to combine as many changes as possible in one transfer. In most cases, it doesn't matter if changes arrive immediately or a few minutes late. However, if desired, you can force an immediate upload in Merlin Project on iOS.
