Tools and apps I work with - today: Vicky Stamatopoulou

Vicky Stamatopoulou, ProjectWizards GmbH

Hello, this is Vicky Stamatopoulou and I am with the support team of ProjectWizards. I support the users of our macOS and iOS apps, test, blog, create how-to videos and compile user manuals.

For my daily work I rely on various little or not so little helpers. These are the essential tools and apps for my work…

  • A great deal of the time I spend on web browsers. I like to launch different browsers for different topics. For example, I'll use Safari when checking and answering support requests in SupportPal. Opera for Twitter or when managing our YouTube channel. Firefox in addition, to verify how the various documentation files of the user manuals and website show to our clients.

  • For the ongoing task of testing and quality assurance of our macOS, iPadOS and iOS software products, I need developer versions or official releases of Merlin Project, Merlin Project Express and the iOS apps Phone Memos, Herein!, or Meeting Cards.

  • To report issues or features requests for our products, I use our Jira installation.

  • I'll edit in BBEdit markdown texts and manuals written in Asciidoc.

  • With tools like Asciidoctor, Asciidoctor-pdf and Asciidoctor-epub I compile user manuals or other documentation files to various formats and upload them with ForkLift on our website.

  • To record and edit how-to videos, I found Screenflow to have all the features I need.

  • We chose for version control for our various company projects Git and the Tower App.

  • The ProjectWizards team works decentralized - everyone from his favorite place. To communicate with each other, we like Slack for its chat and audio call features. For video conferences or audio calls in bigger scale we'll Skype and sometimes Zoom.

  • When I need to automate a specific workflow of our macOS software Merlin Project, I'll write the Apple Scripts in Apple's Script Editor.
