With Merlin Project In Deutsche Bahn
"I'm not compatible with Deutsche Bahn," was my answer for many years when asked about my choice of travel mode. I couldn't even say exactly how long it had been since my last train trip, but it may have been anything between 10 and 15 years.
Recently, however, it came to pass that the only way I could reasonably accomplish a business trip was by train. And by that I mean a combination of time and money. So I bravely chose this option and went on the adventure.
Over the course of 3 days, I rode the train from Osnabrück to Stuttgart, on to Munich and from there back to Osnabrück. I learned a lot on this trip. Some old prejudices were confirmed, but many were also revised. Here are a few of my insights:

ProjectWizards is against war. We strongly condemn Putin's invasion of Ukraine and sympathize with the Ukrainian people.
Our business is project management software. Unfortunately, it may not only be used for good, but also for bad things, such as a war of aggression.
We cannot reconcile it with our conscience to be involved in it. Neither directly, nor indirectly, such as through war-financing banks. We are therefore stopping all business with Russia.
We also believe that the sanctions imposed by the German government and the European Union are still not enough. Therefore, we call on our friends in software development to join us.

Part 5
Meanwhile, the new year is already a few days old and the last holidaymakers are now also busy working again.
Of course, I took it down a notch over the holidays and worked mainly on administrative things for the new year. I also did some work on the website for the upcoming Merlin Project 8.1 release.
From this, the attentive reader can immediately see that I haven't written quite a lot on the new manual ... actually nothing at all 🤷♂️.
