E-Mails for Project Managers

Yesterday was another one of those days… 250 e-mails in my inbox. Yes, in one day! Of course 75% of it was spam. And even if you use Mail.app's spam filter – which actually works very well – you will always find that a mail slipped into the wrong folder from time to time. This triggered an interesting discussion: Is the e-mail still relevant for the project manager, or have Slack & Co. already taken over all the tasks? But first let me take a closer look at the subject of e-mail.

How is email written correctly?

One of my favorite discussions ;-) When I skim our website, I find at least two versions: eMail and e-Mail. But what is correct? Internationally it is a bit difficult. Here the use of email or e-mail is roughly balanced. As usual, the Duden has a clear opinion for the German-speaking area: E-Mail.

Compared to the Mac version, we're not quite up to date with the iPad version yet, but we're constantly working on it. Merlin Project 5.1.3 Is Released

News from the Support team

With version 5.1.3 we do not only provide maintenance updates for the users of Merlin Project on Mac and iPad, as well as Merlin Server. There are also new functions included, which increase the comfort especially for large projects:

The Gantt chart now shows a double arrow symbol to jump to bars outside the visible time range.

In the structure plan and the assignment view, the line pop-up triangles now also appear on the guest page when the outline is hidden.

The synchronization panel has been redesigned to better support document sharing via Merlin Server, iCloud Drive, Dropbox and SMB.

In addition, when dragging Gantt bars, guide lines now appear in the time scale.

Update the macOS versions with the function "Check for updates...".

Here you can find the release notes fro Merlin Project and Merlin Server. Most of these updates also apply to Merlin Project Express. The new versions will be provided in the Mac App Store or at SetApp – right after its review.
