Lean Management en la gestión de proyectos
Lean Management es un método de optimización de procesos para minimizar los residuos y lograr resultados más eficientes. La filosofía lean parte de la base de que el cliente sólo paga por la creación de valor y no por los residuos o los procesos innecesarios.
Aplicado a la gestión de proyectos, esto significa que todos los procesos y actividades que no crean valor para el cliente deben ser identificados y eliminados. Por lo tanto, los proyectos se racionalizan. Hay que ahorrar tiempo y recursos para maximizar los beneficios para el cliente y también el éxito del proyecto. Un principio importante aquí es la mejora continua. Esto significa que los procesos se supervisan y mejoran continuamente para aumentar la eficacia y la eficiencia. Este método también se denomina gestión ajustada de proyectos.

Today we take a cautious look into our wizard's kitchen. I would like to show how we approach new development projects. There are two different approaches for us.
We Simply Build The App
When the scope of a new app is very manageable, it's easy to assess the risk of development. The cost is low because, for example, only one developer is working on it for a short time (less than a month). In this case, we define a feature set, the app is built and out to the public with it. This was the case with Phone Memos, Meeting Cards and also with Herein.
The Feature Set Is Too Large For "Just Building It".
Sometimes, during initial discussions about a new app, you can immediately see that this scope will exceed the person-month limit. Or - as in Merlin Project – the product is of strategic importance. In this case, we are talking about a risk investment and here, of course, we proceed accordingly more cautiously.

Existe un dicho antiguo que dice: "Más vale un final con horror que un horror sin final". Pero, ¿cuándo es el momento definitivo para terminar un proyecto?
Recientemente, apareció un artículo en nuestro periódico local que informaba del cierre de un restaurante a solo unos meses de su apertura. Las razones dadas por el operador fueron que, a pesar de la reacción positiva de los clientes, la explotación del restaurante no será rentable en un futuro próximo. Esto se debe al incremento general de precios y a la explosión de costos asociada.
Ciertamente, este es solo un caso entre muchos. Aquí se da por terminado un proyecto porque el operador no ve un futuro en la situación actual. Pero, ¿cuándo es el momento de considerar un proyecto un fracaso y ponerle fin? ¿Basta con que se haya agotado el presupuesto? ¿O solo debe abandonarse cuando ya no se pueda cumplir el objetivo del proyecto?
