File Element

The File element is expressly designed so you can add pictures to your project with your iPhone. This way you can take a photo and attach the picture to any project item (activity or milestone, for example).

Creating a new File

To create a new File, tap on the "Files" item, followed by the "+" button in the upper righthand corner. The following options will appear:

You can immediately take a photo with your built-in iPhoto camera and save it as a File element. Or you can select a photo from your Photo Library or Photo Album that has been stored on your iPhone and attach them to a project.

Update

Files are the only Element that requires no connection to a published Merlin project because the photos are automatically stored directly on the iPhone rather than to the published project. However, the photos will be transferred to the published Merlin project file once the project gets updated.

Tap the "Update" button in the lower lefthand corner. The update will begin immediately and the file will be saved to the iPhone.

To cancel the update, tap the "x" button.

Elements can be removed by simply swiping over them. Confirm the deletion by tapping "Delete".

Be careful as removing a checklist can not be undone!
