Merlin: PM Templates

Vicky Stamatopoulou on 4. February 2010

It’s so easy starting new projects in Merlin. It comes with a number of PM templates for you to use. Simply call File > New Project… and choose the appropriate one. Do you want to hire a consultant, plan product design, engineering projects, software development, etc? You are all setup with Merlin.

In Merlin’s user forum in Google and in support we find occasionally the question, where one could find more project management templates.
The answer to it is as always: in the internet. Just google for it. You will find lots of different templates in various formats; MS Excel, MS Word, PDF, Powerpoint, MindMap or MS Project. Some of the templates are free, for others you need to pay a fee either on download or for a forum membership.

Tips:

  • To open an MS Project template in Merlin, simply change its file ending from .MPT to .MPP and then drag & drop it onto Merlin’s application icon.
  • Microsoft offers free templates for download. Some of them are saved in CAB packages,
  • which can get expanded by the Stuffit Expander (free of charges utility).
  • To save the files as Merlin templates, open them first and call afterwards ‘File > Save as template… ‘
