  • The internal date picker used a wrong time zone when entering values.
  • In some cases Merlin did not respond when working on calendars or deleting file elements.
  • The date picker in Merlin Web did not work.
  • CSV import did not work properly under all circumstances.

I updated to 2.7.1 when Merlin asked if I wanted to.

Now it won’t recognize my license, so I can’t save my work…

    Help…

Are you sure you have the latest version? We had to send out the update twice, because of a defect upload. So, please check for updates again. If this does not help, please contact the support.

Whar are the Merlin Server license for ?

Say: We just purshased [1] license for the server, what will this license be for – only one user connected to the server simultaineously ??

Also: We are planning to run the Merlin Server on a xServe running OSX server 10.5.7.
How do we secure that merlin server starts automatically – without any users logging in (ak: when the machine restarts) ?

Michal — the single license of Merlin Server supports up to 10 concurrent user sessions, along with 10 iPhone licenses. Only thing not included is a license for Merlin for Mac OS X, which can be purchased separately.

Once the Merlin Server preference pane is configured to the “on” position, this service will start up automatically whenever xServe machine restarts. No manual steps necessary! :-)

    Thanks John!

We have purchased a 10 user license of the Merlin as well a one server license – which seems to be a perfect match then!

Updated again 2.7.1 (8248) now. License is OK, but now every other time I try to create a report Merlin crashes…

Hello TQ and please note to send support requests to Merlin support if you need prompt answers. The addresses are listed in the support page:
    http://www.projectwizards.net/en/support/

If saving fails for any reason, try export the file as Merlin XML.
To do so call File > Export > XML You may then open the XML file and save in a new Merlin project.

    Best regards, Vicky

I’m seeing the same problem as TQ is having. Exporting as XML, quitting Merlin, restarting and opening XML worked for me.

I have had to recreate a project from scratch twice now only to have Merlin delete the file that I had created.

    Here is what happend TWICE.
Started new empty project from scratch
spent 3 hours inputing all my data
saved the file on my hard drive successfully

Left merlin and my project open over the weekend
came in today, made a couple modifications to my project
tried to save, message, file cannot be saved
tried save as, selected the same file on my hard drive
Merlin crashed and deleted the file!!!

Hi Brian, are you still using 2.7.1?
Please update your Merlin to the latest version 2.8.4.

If saving fails for any reason, you can always export your file as Merlin XML file: File > Export > XML
The thus exported Merlin-XML file can be then opened with Merlin and saved as a new project file.

    Best regards, Vicky

    Hi Vicky,

I am using Merlin version 2.9, I experience the same issue and I am not able to export it to XML either.
The dstination folder remains empty …

Is there any alternative solution making sure my version can be maintained (meanwhile I will not switch off my computer ..)

    Regards,

    Mark
