Merlin Projects on iPhone

Vicky Stamatopoulou on 11. March 2010

We have submitted the next update for Merlin on the iPhone to the App Store and wait for its approval.

It will carry the version number 1.0.4 and includes the following issue fixes:

  • The iPhone app has now a new icon and a new title. Its former title “Merlin” is now part of the icon and the application itself is called “Projects”; so it reads “Merlin Projects”.
  • The navigation view is now properly positioned even after cancelling the image picker in the file elements view.
  • Under some circumstances it was not possible to enter the completion percentage.
  • Added a workaround for a bug in the 3.2 beta version of the iPhone SDK.
  • The Gantt view wasn’t refreshed after a sync operation.
  • Under some circumstances Merlin iPhone did crash on start.
  • The stability in general is improved.

We hope Apple approves the new update of Merlin iPhone quickly, and it is soon available in the App Store for download.

Update: The update 1.0.4 is now available in the App Store and recommended for all Merlin iPhone 1.0.3 users.

MacWorld 2010, commented by Dave Prior

Vicky Stamatopoulou on 23. February 2010

In the latest Project Potion episode of Bas De Baar and Dave Prior, Dave Prior comments his visit to the MacWorld, the outcome of his intention to meet up with other PMs, and some new products he found there.

Our favourite quote of the episode is…

And I went out there with the guys of ProjectWizards, that is the company which makes Merlin, which is for my money, the best Project Management software on mac,  because it is the only one that lets you enter separate values for work and duration, which to me is a huge deal being as I am a bit of a geek when it comes to making my project plans.

Enjoy the episode, there is so much more PM relevant information to find there. It is awesome!  Watch it until the end, and you will know why we call it so ;-)

Merlin in Education

Vicky Stamatopoulou on 4. February 2010

To all current members (enrolled student, faculty or staff) of an academic institution we do offer an educational discount of 30 % on the list price. Therefore the educational price of Merlin is EUR 101.50 – USD 147.00 – GBP 91.00 net, i. e. plus legal VAT/ Tax which has to be added for certain countries.

The education version is a full and complete version of Merlin without any limitations in content and usability, it’s just cheaper! The Web Sharing, the iPhone Sharing, Merlin Server and all major upgrades (by a change of version) are not eligible for any discounts as they are optional complements and charged at cost price.

To qualify for the educational pricing you should be able to provide documentation, per email, that shows you belong to the academic institute. As soon as we have received appropriate documentation we will send you a link where you can order your copy of Merlin. You may directly order the licence key online, paying by credit card and in the preferred currency.

Cirque du Mac, Are you invited?

Vicky Stamatopoulou on 25. January 2010

Merlin is co-sponsoring ‘Cirque du Mac’. One of the best parties at Macworld

cirque du mac 7.0

…with real Mac people playing real live music, roaming clowns, tattoo artists and a Videator-powered light.  Fancy a peek of previous years? Sure,  there are plenty of videos available in the internet. Check here, here or here.

You cannot buy any tickets for this cult party. You may enter your ticket request online though and if it gets accepted you will receive an email.

Do you feel lucky? Join the mac observer’s Cirque du Mac 7.0 contest and hopefully win a pair of tickets.

You consider entering your ticket request and wait? We recommend you should try both ways!

Good luck!
